Non-Profit Organization Ships Critical Needed Water To Citizens of Newton And Liberty Counties in Texas
TAMPA, FL – The Tampa 501c3 non-profit organization Course of Action, and the Ultra-Pure Water coming together again for an honorable cause. Ultra-Pure is a leading provider of bottled drinking water, serving the southeastern U.S. region from Tampa, Florida. This is not the first time the Course of Action foundation and Ultra-Pure Water has collaborated to support other communities like North Florida when both companies teamed up to ship more than 250K bottles of water during hurricane Michael in 2018.
The devastating winter weather left Texans shivering in the dark and thousands of home owners flooded and in need of repair after flooding caused burst pipes. The storm, simply put, shocked the state. First came bitter cold, then slick roads and sidewalks caused by ice. We saw the repeated news to Texas residents telling people to boil water. People were already stressed and dealing with a variety of challenges with the pandemic.
This is when we decided to call the Newton County Emergency Director Mr. Olen Bean who confirmed to us that many residents in Newton and Liberty Counties were in need of bottled water and many were still without water. We also coordinated the distribution of water in Liberty County with Pastor Ron Washington.
On 24 February 2021, the truck loaded with eight pallets of water departed Tampa, Florida and water arrived in Texas on 26 February. The water was distributed to the neediest in Newton and Liberty County residents. We also appreciate the collaboration and support provided by the Maikels Kitchen restaurant in Tampa, Florida.
The Course of Action foundation remains committed to providing life-saving assistance to families in our communities affected by natural, health and economical disasters. Our thoughts and prayers are with those affected by the Winter Storms.
